Each
year thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts descend
on Nashville, Tennessee from all over the
United States. In 2001 the rally drew participants
from over twenty-six states partly because
there's nothing like the fall in middle Tennessee.
The leaves are turning beautiful colors and
the weather is warm but with a seasonal feeling
of fall in the air. The Stampede takes place
each year in September.
Tennessee
has may great things to offer. The Great Smokey
Mountains, plenty of winding roads through
small, rural towns, tons of Civil War historic
sites, antebellum mansions and majestic state
parks are just the start. Then there's all
the music that Tennessee is famous for: the
blues on Beale Street, the honky tonks of
Nashville and the bluegrass of the Smokey
Mountains.
The
Steel Horse Stampede is a riders rally. There
are organized rides from Nashville to Lynchburg
with a ride to the Jack Daniel Distillery,
a $25,000 Poker Run that benefits MDA and
covers the winding Natchez Trace, and many
back-roads that rally-goers can get lost on
for a whole day's worth of wonderful riding.
The Stampede also offers a variety of the
industry's best vendors including the Camel
Roadhouse, Easyriders, Big Dog, Harley-Davidson
and many custom builders. There's also plenty
of great food from the Wildhorse Saloon, Hard
Rock Cafe, Big River Brewing Company and many
others. If your bike has what it takes you
can enter it into the mid south's largest
custom bike show, sponsored by Chromemasters.
With
so much to see, hear and do, the Steel Horse
Stampede is a "must ride" for any biker anywhere.
